Air-Cooled Chiller Design for Practical Industrial Cooling
An air-cooled chiller cools circulating water by transferring heat from the water to a refrigerant, then releasing that heat into the surrounding air. The refrigeration circuit typically consists of a compressor, air-cooled condenser, expansion valve, and evaporator. Because heat rejection uses fans and ambient air, the system does not rely on a cooling tower. Actual performance depends on the selected model, ambient temperature, water flow, target water temperatures, and application load.
